Anythings now works inside Claude and ChatGPT
You know that moment when an AI chat helps you untangle your week — and you end the conversation with a neat plan… that lives nowhere? You copy-paste the pieces into your to-do app, reformat them, add the dates again. That gap is exactly the kind of friction Anythings exists to delete. So today we’re deleting it.
Anythings now has an official connector for AI assistants. Add it once, and Claude or ChatGPT can work with your real task list — mid-conversation, in plain language. It uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), so it also works in any other tool that speaks MCP.
What it can do in V1
- Capture anything. Say “add these to my list” after planning something — or paste a whole brain dump. The same AI that powers the app splits it into tasks, picks up due dates from natural language, matches your priorities, and ranks everything. Our current record is 24 tasks from a single 218-word dump.
- See your list, in order. “What should I work on today?” returns your tasks ranked exactly the way the app ranks them — not alphabetically, not by creation date. The right thing first.
- Check things off. “Mark the dentist thing done.” Recurring tasks spawn their next occurrence, just like in the app.
- Reschedule and snooze. “Push the report to Friday” or “snooze the groceries a couple days.”
- Read your record book. “How am I doing?” returns your personal stats: completion streaks, your biggest brain dump, how often you finish things on the exact due day.
How to add it — pick your AI
It’s the same URL everywhere: https://www.anythings.app/api/mcp — paste it exactly (watch for a stray period or slash sneaking onto the end). Whatever the tool, the last step is identical: a browser tab opens on anythings.app, you sign in with your normal account, review what the assistant can do, and hit Approve.
- 1Open Claude (web or desktop) → Settings → Connectors.
- 2Click “Add custom connector” and paste the URL, then Add.
- 3Click Connect and approve in the browser tab that opens.
- 4In a chat, tap the + button → Connectors, and make sure Anythings is toggled on.
Works on every plan — the free plan allows one custom connector. On Team/Enterprise, an org Owner adds it under Organization settings first, then everyone connects individually.
Security, in plain words
The connector never sees your password — you sign in on anythings.app, in your browser, and the assistant only receives a scoped token for your account. It can capture, read, complete, and reschedule tasks. It can’t delete your tasks, touch your account settings, or see anyone else’s data. Revoke access anytime by removing the connector in your AI tool. Free-plan limits apply the same as in the app.
Why this matters to us
Anythings has always been about one move: get the thing out of your head and trust the list to put it in the right order. The app, the email address, Siri, the share sheet — they’re all just doors into that same move. AI chats are where a lot of thinking happens now, so they needed a door too.
Think out loud wherever you think. The list stays in order.
It’s free to try — create an account at anythings.app, add the connector, and tell your assistant what’s on your mind. And if you break the 24-task brain-dump record, I’ll hear about it in the data.
